  • Thu 10th May 2007 – ‘Pub Quiz Night’ at a local venue

London Yard Events will continue to be advertised more fully through this website and through posters distributed to households shortly before each event.

Who we are

In 2005 a small group of residents gradually got together and formed the Yardy Events Crew.  We have been organizing events in our free time to bring the people of London Yard together to socialize and enjoy the estate and promote a sense of community where we live.

The Crew

We would like to thank Ro Mills for her massive contribution to the London Yard community and wish her well as she relocates to Singapore. We are excited to announce the new third and fourth members of the crew are: Nik (of Van Gogh) and Derry (of Amsterdam Road). Welcome aboard!

The Volunteers

We were blown away by the residents’ response to our recent Volunteers Evening. The Crew will now supported by around 15 volunteers from the London Yard, who will help make our events even more successful.

What we’ve done so far:

We had some great events so far, in 2006 we have hosted:

  • Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night.
  • Thames River Cruise from Greenwich in September.
  • Yardy Events Volunteer’s’ Open Evening in July;
  • ‘Mid Summer BBQ and Historic Walk of the Island in June;
  • ‘Easter Treasure Hunt’ around the Estate in April

And in 2005 we hosted:

  • ‘Eastern Delight Christmas Party’ at our very own Memsaheb Restaurant;
  • ‘Halloween Yardy Party’ at the Pond;
  • ‘End of summer BBQ’ on the lawns;

We have really enjoyed putting on the events, and especially enjoyed the company of our neighbours (and now friends) at these gatherings. Photos of these events.

 Where you can find us:

If you would like to volunteer and support the Crew putting on events, or have any ideas or contacts that would help us plan for any of the above events, we would love to hear from you. You can find us by contacting on email at yardy_events@londonyard.com.

We look forward to meeting you at the next event!
