The
Docklands
Museum
 Opened
in May, the Docklands Museum explores the story of London's
River, Port and People, from Roman settlement of the port,
through to the recent regeneration of London's former
Docklands - a 2000 year storyline.
The
Museum is located over five floors of a splendid late Georgian
warehouse on West India Quay - literally in the shadow of the
Canary Wharf district - and offers twelve major galleries, a
children's gallery, education services, functions suites, a
restaurant and a shop.

 Jim
Fitzpatrick - Married and Promoted in less than a month
Our
Member of Parliament has been honoured
twice in the last month - being promoted and getting married.
Last
month, Jim Fitzpatrick, MP for Poplar and Canning Town, married Dr
Sheila Hunter at Bow Registry Office.
Mr
Fitzpatrick was then appointed as Vice Chamberlain of Her
Majesty's Household by Tony Blair during the recent cabinet
reshuffle. The
promotion to the senior Whip's Office post will mean Jim becomes
the link between the Palace and the House of Commons.
The office
dates back to Edward III and Jim will be issued with a white
staff, his "wand of office", by the Her Majesty the
Queen in the next few weeks. I'm speculating but I bet that the
white stockings go back to Edward II - Editor. |
