Garden Revival
Spring is on its way and the gardening team are already preparing for the new season. In the picture left Colin Roast and Dave O'Keefe are trimming bushes and preparing the ground near Frans Hals Court for new planting.

David
Hunwick's team have been pruning and preparing soil for the
new planting which will be begin this week. David (pictured right) has great ideas for
the London Yard gardens with planting schemes and proposals for the
wooden borders to the beds. Much of what David proposes is still subject
to the Board of the Management Company agreeing his plans but David
Hunwick has a track record for keeping London Yard's gardens in good
order since he took over in January 2001.
Posts
restricting access to part of the car park next to the restaurant have
been installed. This has been done to discourage the misuse of the
area that has been going on for some time. A number of residents had
complained about the activities of people in cars parked there. The
posts can be removed when the space is needed.
Our
Security Guard, Antony, was
surprised on Good Friday, to find a peacock
strutting around the pond. He asked
where it had come from. One suggestion was the Mudchute Park and Farm
and a telephone call quickly confirmed that it had escaped from there. It was
quickly collected by its keeper, Daniel Petheridge (pictured).
The
pruning of the trees in Amsterdam Road may look drastic but Dave, left,
is certain that it will improve the growth and look of the trees in the
coming growing season.
