James is new Chairman

James Rimmer has been elected as the Chairman of the new Board of Directors of the London Yard Management Company.

James is a lawyer, presently with Penn Legal, primarily concerned with commercial property. Privately, he has commercial interests particularly in property development in South Africa and, accordingly, able to bring property management expertise to the Board. On being contacted by Londonyard.com he said, "I hope people will feel free to seek advice of the Board when necessary and, to this end, measures will be implemented to ensure the satisfaction of the residents of London Yard."

Paul Duffy has been appointed Deputy Chairman charged with driving forward the business of the company.

'Rejuvenated'

At a well attended Annual General Meeting of the London Yard Management Company the eight members of the Rejuvenation Group were elected to form the new Board of the company. Also elected were two members of the previous Board, Angela Brown and Mina Bowater.

Paul Duffy (right), the spokesman for the Group, told the meeting that the reason why London Yard shareholders wanted change was not because of lack of effort by the Board. He said that the Board was well intentioned and that they had all put in a tremendous amount of time, energy and effort for which they should be thanked. Paul said that he had called on and spoken to over a hundred of the London Yard shareholders and what they said to him was that, as well as concerns over specific issues, they didn't know what was going on. That was the root of their dissatisfaction. That is why transparency formed an important part of the proposals for change upon which he, and the Group, had campaigned. "People need to know what is going on. That is the key issue," he said.
