Mobile
Security Wood
Management, the London Yard Managing Agents, has set up a security arm in order
to improve security on the estates it manages. The
new security staff are mobile and, at present, will both give backup to our security
guard and be available for the hours when
London Yard does not have a security presence. Now that this service is an
option, the Board are considering changing our arrangements from the present ten
hours coverage to the 24 hour service provided by the mobile units. It is
believed that the change would reduce our security costs by one third as well as
being more effective than our current arrangements. The planned CCTV system will be
monitored from their base station in South Quay which is only a few minutes
away. At its May meeting, the Board agreed to the change in principle, but subject to a Service
Level Agreement covering the number of drive-throughs to be made each hour and
other operational details. Antony, our present security guard, would join the
mobile unit.
