CCTV - 82% in favour!

Image captured during camera testing last yearFollowing consultation  between the Management Company and London Yard property owners, the London Yard Board are expected to give the go-ahead for CCTV at its next meeting.

The Board's written proposal was sent to all property owners in April and a meeting was held at the beginning of May to answer any resulting questions. The responses to the proposal are overwhelmingly in favour (82%) for the installation of CCTV and changing to 24 hour mobile patrols.

Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk

Last year's BBQ was fantastic and the weather great - both have been booked againThe latest, and possibly greatest, event to be organised by the Yardy Events Crew is an "Historic Island Walk", with an expert as your guide. The walk is followed by a barbeque. So the 'must go' date for your diary is:- Saturday, 24th June.

The walk will start at the pond at 1 p.m. and, under the guidance of Steven Brindle* will take in the historical sights (and sites) of the Isle of Dogs. By 3 p.m. you will be ready to bring your own food and drink to the riverside lawns to enjoy a very social afternoon barbeque. Residents are welcome to join the party at 1 p.m. or just for the BBQ at 3 p.m.

Underneath the Arches, Down Amsterdam Road

Tower Hamlets council are positioning purple recycling bins under the arches on Amsterdam Road.

The bins are for the use of all of London Yard residents to dispose of their recyclable rubbish. Detailed instructions on what can be recycled are displayed on the bins and details have also been sent to all properties. The bins will be emptied every Monday.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet

The end of May sees the departure from London Yard of two of its longest serving residents.

Christoph Noebel and Molly Lewnisky-NoebelChristoph Noebel and Molly have swapped the Thames at London for the Rhein at Remagen (of Bridge Too Far fame). He is claiming that his move has nothing to do with not wanting to be here when England beat Germany in the World Cup.

Van Gogh finished

The roof work on Van Gogh Court has now been completed and the scaffolding is being taken down.

Frans Hals Court is next for external painting and roof replacement. The provisional schedule for Frans Hals Court expects physical work to start at the end of July. Tender documents have already been sent out to likely contractors.
