All Change at the Top

Frances McKeith - new Board ChairmanThere is a new Chairman of the management company. Frances McKeith has been appointed to the post of Board Chairman and will seek to put together a new team of directors.

Frances intends that the new board will concentrate on the management company's core responsibilities of maintenance of the infrastructure and the provision of the existing services to residents. Plans to install CCTV, mobile security and gating of the estate have been discontinued, at least for the foreseeable future.

The Board of the company has recently been losing directors at an unusual rate and four more directors have indicated that they intend to stand down in the near future. The Board felt it necessary to reconstitute itself and will do so over the next few months.

Yardy co-authors great book

Shot From Above - Simon Brindle and Damian GradySimon Brindle has co-authored a great book of photographs of London. Called "Shot from Above - Aerial Aspects of London", you can buy it from Amazon for £17.50.

During the Second World War, the RAF undertook a remarkable aerial survey of the British Isles. Taking photographs from a low flying Spitfire, they mapped the whole of the United Kingdom. Focusing on London, in this book they show the havoc wreaked by the Luftwaffe. The book is laid out with the historic shot on one side of the page and the modern equivalent on the other. For example, we see the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf reduced to rubble in the Second World War, compared with the shimmering metal and glass towers of today.

Bridge and Decking Repaired

The bridge over the pond has been repaired as well as one of the decks.

More repairs to the remainder of the decking will be required and will be scheduled for the next financial year.

Problems at Wood Management

Residents may have noticed that, allegedly, because of the number of emails received, Wood Management is taking 10 or 11 days to reply to them.

Residents are advised to telephone Wood Management (0207 987 2111) if their business is more urgent. If you choose to email Woods, send it directly to Mark Tamuta (address below). This will give Mark the opportunity to prioritize the matter before passing it on to his staff.
