River Walkway Wall Coming Down Work has started to demolish the wall on the river walkway between London Yard and Millwall Wharf. Workmen began in the first few days of June but, having seen the width of the brick and concrete, they went away. Hopefully, they will soon be back and we will be able to walk along the river all the way to Island Gardens. |

Seabourn Pride off to Russia The Seabourn Pride Cruise ship passes Vermeer Court on its leisurely way to Oslo, St Petersburg and Copenhagen. The 10,000 ton ship was built in Bremerhaven and christened by Shirley Temple Black in 1988. The "Owner's Suite" for the cruise would cost you 21,600 Euros.

Join the Website Dining Club
As a result, we have come up with the idea of having a London Yard Website Supporters Dining Club (any suggestions for a name?). We know, from the numerous emails that the website is both popular, useful and that we have lots of supporters - so, let's meet up occasionally (every six weeks or so - on a Tuesday evening) and enjoy some good food and chat. If you are interested, just email websiteeditor@londonyard.co.uk and you will be notified of meetings of the Club. Next month is the website's first birthday which would be a great excuse for a get-together. Email Now! |

Website Backup The London Yard Website was out of action for a week at the beginning of May - Our apologies. This was due to major server problems at our Internet Service Provider. Our Newsletter editor was able to transfer the London Yard content to his personal website and was able to provide some service whilst the ISP site was down. It has been decided to provide this backup permanently. So, if you have a problem getting the site try www.coverson.co.uk Bookmark this site now so that it is there when you need it. |
